Pesticide-Free Lawn Initiative:
Inspired by Connecticut Towns such as Plainville, Cheshire, and Granby using organic gardening practices on town properties, FRWA has launched a pesticide-free lawn initiative. Our efforts are two-fold; to educate homeowners and businesses about the dangers of synthetic pesticide and herbicide uses and to maintain a growing list of home and business owner properties that refuse to use these dangerous and lethal chemicals.
If you are interested in learning about the dangers of synthetic lawn chemicals and how to make your lawn "green" naturally, please peruse our links and informational flyers listed below. If you don't use pesticides on your lawn, or are going to stop now, sign our pledge below. So far we have 15 pledges with a total of 43.84 acres! Happy Gardening!
Attend NOFA's 4th Annual Lawn and Turf Course in August 2008. This one day intensive course in organic turf management is offered in Hillsborough, NJ on August 14th; Dartmouth, MA on August 19th; and Manchester CT on August 21st. Click here for the brochure.
